About Our School
We are a happy and successful High School with a Sixth Form. We serve the whole community of Droitwich and its surrounding villages, making our intake socio-economically diverse, which our entire staff play up to and thrive upon. We use our House system alongside our academic work to create a sense of belonging, identity and recognition as well as ambition and optimism.
Our staff are talented and so incredibly supportive of one another. We have a new Headteacher who is determined to treasure the strengths of the school (we have a ‘Good’ OFSTED rating) as well being ready to address the areas where improvement is needed. We have adapted our leadership team to secure faster progress towards our objectives and we are particularly excited about our plans to make our staff CPD something that other schools are envious of and can learn from. Our impact on our young people, both scholastically and pastorally, is profound, but we are committed to improving it further.
You are strongly encouraged to read our ‘Information for Prospective Colleagues.’ We expect that it will give you an even deeper feel for the community we serve, our ethos, our culture and what our school is like day to day.
About the Vacancy
We have an exciting opportunity for a new or experienced Mathematics teacher to join our established and successful team from September 2025. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach Maths across the Key Stages and will be creative, innovative and committed to raising standards through sharing best practice. A high level of subject knowledge is essential. The successful applicant will be somebody who enjoys spending as much time in the classroom as possible; someone who has a passion for bringing maths to life and make it engaging, exciting and tangible for a wide range of prior attainers.
Through an energetic positive approach, you will have the ability to build strong working relationships, motivate and inspire both students and staff. The ability to work as part of a team is vital. We are open minded about the level of seniority and experience required of applicants.
We are recruiting for both roles. Please specify which you are applying for in your application.
About our Maths Department
We are a strong team of teachers who work together to provide the best possible curriculum and outcomes for our students. There is a wide range of experience in the department and we are proud of the fact that all of our colleagues are Maths specialists. All colleagues teach across the age and ability range, with some specialism at A level.
Colleagues in the Maths department have a strong tradition of supporting each other; we look out for one another and retain a strong sense of purpose and accountability. Lessons are planned and reviewed collaboratively, we continually look for ways to improve and develop our curriculum.
In Years 8 and 9 students are grouped based loosely on KS2 attainment. In Years 10 and 11 students are banded and we have the facility to group students in the manner which we deem to be most appropriate.
At GCSE and A-level the students follow the Edexcel specifications.
Numbers for Sixth Form are strong, with both Year 12 and 13 having 2 A Level groups as well as a Further Maths group. We also run Core Maths in Year 12.
