Salary
£34,866 to £46,485 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

We are delighted to be recruiting two new permanent colleagues to join the flourishing Department of Cultural, Media and Visual Studies in the School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies at the University of Nottingham. They will contribute to a vibrant and collegial research-led learning environment.
To help deliver these exciting new programmes, we seek applicants with research and/or teaching expertise in one or more of the following areas:
* International Media and Communications:
o Platform Studies
o Digital Cultures
o Screen Studies
* Critical Theory and Cultural Studies:
o Memory Studies
o Material Culture
o Sound Studies
* Cultural and Creative Industries:
o Heritage and Museum Studies
o Creative Labour
o Sustainability
One of the two posts is a permanent Teaching Associate in Media and Cultural Studies who will provide teaching and curriculum leadership at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The role holder will have knowledge and teaching experience of media and cultural studies, including teaching these subjects at Master’s level to small group seminars. They will also have a proven track record of curriculum development and design in these areas. Experience of and interest in practice-based teaching methods would be particularly advantageous.
Candidates must hold a PhD or equivalent in relevant subject areas (e.g. Media Studies, Cultural Studies, Communication Studies, Cultural/Creative Industries) and have previous experience of teaching at Higher Education level. You should have detailed knowledge of teaching methods and techniques and growing practical experience of application of teaching skills and techniques to university courses.
The post is offered on a full time (36.25 hours per week), permanent contract. Job-share arrangements may be considered.
