The Role: Has responsibility for project accounting, control and reporting across the business and is to support the Cost Controllers and Project Managers across the business at all stages of the project life cycle. This includes supporting pricing and tendering function, budget setting, setting of KPIs and reporting to invoice and closure as required. In addition, maintaining an effective working relationship between Cost Controller(s), Accounts Payable/Receivable, Commercial, Supply Chain as required. Principle Accountabilities: Ensure accuracy and completeness of all accounting information within Sage/IFS, implementing new control procedures to manage cost allocation and cost reporting as necessary Working in conjunction with the Cost Controller to validate project cost and revenue accruals, recognising these in Sage/IFS Being the focal point for all financial matters relating to the project, and primary point of contact with Cost Controller / Project Manager Development of financial reporting to track financial performance against the expected profitability and identify risks and issues. Produce high quality analysis and interpretation of variances between planned and unplanned income and expenditure Control of Client invoicing process including collation / review of any necessary evidence (i.e. Daily Progress Reports, Time Sheets and Rechargeable costs) Preparation of quarterly forecasts / budgets to include revenue, profit and cash-flow targets with Cost Controllers / Project Managers and Division Directors Assist Finance Reporting Manager with control of JFO and Product Line specific accounting policies and procedures Close out Project accounts upon project completion, prepare close off financials for final project review Support the month end process, including uploading management accounts and forecasts to Group shared platform Cognos Compile information for internal/external auditors Qualifications and Experience: PQ/AAT or QBE. Experience of projects is essential along with a history of practical accounting and finance experience, including asset and inventory management. Prior experience in the energy sector would be an advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, experience with SAGE or IFS system would be an added advantage. Conversant with accounting standards, Companies Act 2016 and other regulatory compliance requirements. Who are we looking for?
