We are seeking a talented Senior or Principal Hardware Systems Engineer to join our UK Centre of Excellence for Life Sciences in Ashford, Kent. In this role, you will take responsibility for the electronics and firmware design of cutting-edge life science and medical products that make a real difference in people's lives. Key Responsibilities · Lead the digital/analogue electronics and firmware design of products from concept through to production · Develop system architecture and design concepts · Work with Altium Designer CAD tool for schematic and board layout · Prototype, test, and troubleshoot hardware systems · Ensure EMC and electrical safety compliance · Capture specifications and requirements · Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers · Support technology transfer to manufacturing and liaise with product management, business development, and operations teams What We’re Looking For · Degree (2:1 or higher) in a relevant discipline · 8 years of experience in digital/analogue electronics design (exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered) · Experience in embedded programming (C, FPGA VHDL essential) · Proficiency in C++, .NET, C#, Java, or Python is a plus · Familiarity with CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium preferred) · Understanding of EMC compliance design techniques · Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work hands-on with hardware · Excellent communication and client-facing skills · A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation Why Join Us?
