We would like to offer 2 opportunities for teachers to take the next step in their career in this ‘Good’ School with ‘Outstanding’ features (OFSTED 2024). You will be part of the Middle Management in the school’s staff structure. The post holder is accountable to the Head Teacher/Assistant Head Teachers.
Job Role:
1. To establish good relationships, encourage good working practices and work with Year 3/4 teachers to support the planning of engaging, inclusive, and cohesive curriculum units.
2. Help ensure curriculum coverage, progression, and consistency across phases.
3. Support alignment with school policies and national curriculum expectations.
4. Assist in monitoring the quality of teaching and learning through informal book looks, classroom visits, or learning walks (as directed by SLT).
5. Provide constructive feedback and share best practice in a supportive manner.
6. Work alongside teachers to analyse pupil progress data and identify patterns, gaps, and support needs.
7. Support staff in using assessment to inform planning and target interventions for individual pupils, including SEN, EAL and LAC children.
8. Work with colleagues to support positive behaviour management strategies and promote pupil wellbeing across the phase.
9. Be a point of contact for phase-related pastoral issues, escalating concerns when needed.
10. Facilitate effective communication within the phase, including timetabling.
11. Contribute to phase meetings and support collaborative decision-making.
12. Support the induction of new staff within the phase, including ECTs, by offering guidance, shared resources, and mentoring.
13. Assist with organising and supporting events, workshops or communications that encourage parental involvement in pupils’ learning.
14. Promote the school’s vision, values, and positive culture through modelling and daily practice.
15. To carry out the duties of a Class Teacher as set out in the Teacher Standards.
16. To safeguard every pupil’s health, safety and well-being in line with school policies.
