EDM Machinist Location: Stroud Job Type: Full-time, Permanent – Double Days Shift Rotation Salary: Competitive basic salary plus generous shift allowance Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate multiple EDM/Wire machines in line with production requirements. Ensure products meet quality, quantity, and cost expectations while adhering to production schedules. Work safely and in accordance with company Health & Safety policies. Take ownership of the quality and inspection of machined parts, including cleaning and de-burring. Use set-up sheets, tooling, fixtures, and Edgecam programs provided by Production Engineering. Follow the priorities outlined in the "Work to List" or as set by Production Supervision. Accurately record production and non-productive hours. Monitor EDM machine performance to ensure cycle times align with estimated costed times. Conduct cycle inspections using micrometers, verniers, and coordinate measuring machine reports. Complete Actual Dimensional Report Sheets (ADRS) where required. Provide feedback on CNC programs, tooling, and setup sheets to improve processes. Communicate effectively with the opposite shift machinist during shift handovers. Report and document non-conforming parts, conducting root cause analysis as necessary. Support additional duties as required to meet business and customer needs. Key Skills: Experience operating and controlling EDM/Wire machines. Ability to read and understand CNC machine code for setup and operation. Knowledge of setup parameters, datum setting, tool length, and wear offsets. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings. Strong experience in EDM/Wire setting and process improvements. Familiarity with working on Duplex and Nickel Alloy materials. Ability to perform precise metric conversions from engineering drawings. Experience in part inspections using gauges. Capability to run multiple similar machines
