Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer. You will play a key role in developing detailed mechanical designs for our water treatment facilities, working with a collaborative team of engineers to improve plant efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. This role involves end-to-end design work, from initial concept through to final implementation, ensuring systems meet regulatory standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Design Development: Create and refine mechanical designs for water processing systems, including pumps, valves, piping layouts, filtration systems, and other components.
* 3D Modelling and Drafting: Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) to produce 3D models, schematics, and technical drawings.
* Project Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs align with project goals, timelines, and budgets.
* Field Support: Occasionally provide on-site support during installation and commissioning phases, assisting with troubleshooting and verifying design integrity.
Requirements
* Education: Mechanical Engineering (Apprenticeship, HNC/HND or BEng/MEng Degree) combined with a proven track record of 7+ years of experience within the municipal or industrial
* Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design.
* Technical Skills:
* Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
* Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
* Familiarity with industry standards (ASME, ISO) and regulatory requirements for water processing plants.
* Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a plus.
