Whether you're an experienced governance specialist in financial services or a company secretary looking for a step up, this role will allow you to work at the heart of Aviva's governance framework, supporting UKGI boards and senior stakeholders.
A bit about the job:
This role sits within Aviva's Corporate Governance team, a high-performing function that provides strategic governance support to Aviva's UKGI entities. You will act as a trusted advisor to board directors and executive leadership, ensuring compliance with Company Law, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance codes (e.g., Wates).
As a Senior Corporate Governance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring governance best practices, managing statutory filings, and supporting board and committee operations. You'll also play a key role in monitoring governance trends and advising on their impact. If you enjoy influencing decision-making, leading governance initiatives, and working closely with senior stakeholders, this role is for you.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
* Extensive corporate governance experience, ideally in a FTSE 100/250 or regulated financial services environment.
* Professional qualification - Fellow/Associate of the Chartered Governance Institute (FCIS/ACIS) or qualified lawyer.
* Stakeholder management expertise - proven experience working with board directors, executives, and senior leaders.
* Strong minute-taking and documentation skills, particularly within a regulated environment.
* Experience with entity management systems, preferably Diligent Entities.
