An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Outreach Tutor to support students who are unable to access mainstream education due to SEND, SEMH, or the risk of permanent exclusion. This highly rewarding role involves delivering one-to-one and small group sessions in subjects such as Maths, English, PSHE, interventions, and mentoring. Sessions take place in various settings, including students' homes, local libraries, and schools.
Candidates should have a solid understanding of Literacy and Maths, along with experience working with children, particularly those with additional learning needs. Students range from EYFS to Year 11 and require support up to GCSE or Functional Skills level.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalised tutoring to students with diverse learning needs and abilities
- Motivate and inspire students to overcome challenges and achieve academic success
- Establish strong relationships with students and families through clear communication and a supportive approach
- Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and needs
- Utilise educational technology and resources to enhance learning outcomes
Requirements:
- Previous experience in tutoring or teaching, ideally across different age groups
- QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or a relevant degree in Education, English, Maths, or a related field (preferred but not essential)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to student progress
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to support individual learning needs
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (support available for application if required)
- Right to Work in the UK
