Job overview
The Humber Centre for Forensic Psychiatry is a medium secure hospital, detaining mentally disordered offenders with a mental illness, learning disability, or personality disorder. Robust security is essential to our working practice.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, flexible, and reliable Control Room Operative/Receptionist. The post holder will be required to provide cover at the Humber Centre and Pine View. The successful candidate will be front of house, patient facing, and working to ensure the smooth running of both areas.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work in a busy control room/reception dealing with staff, patients, and visitors. They will be issuing and maintaining security equipment and using a variety of systems that are part of the security processes at the hospital. They will be responsible for controlling access to the building and expected to work closely with a variety of other staff.
They will be friendly, alert, self-motivated, and have the ability to work on their own and as part of a small team.
The security control rooms are staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and so applicants must be aware that they will work a shift pattern that includes day and night shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.

Minimum Requirements
* Standard keyboard skills e.g. RSA/OCR II/ECDL or equivalent
* 2 GCSEs/O levels English and Maths
* 3 or more GCSE/O' levels
* NVQ 2 or equivalent experiential learning
* Working towards advanced keyboard skills e.g. Advanced ECDL or RSA III/OCR
Experience
* Experience of working with the general public
* Knowledge of IT systems
* Demonstrable experience of practice and procedures relevant to the area of work
Skills and competencies
* Able to plan and prioritise effectively and work within defined deadlines
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and be trustworthy
