Job summary We are looking for a friendly, flexible and conscientious individual to join our small Catering team at Alnwick infirmary Hospital working as a Cook / Team Leader. The regular shift requirement for this role would currently be Monday - Thursday 9am - 2pm plus alternate Sunday's 7am -6pm, however, some flexibility to provide holiday cover is also required. Enhanced rate applies to any weekend and bank holiday working hours Other hours may be available and we are also looking to recruit to our staff bank. Main duties of the job As Cook, you have responsibility for the receipt of goods and produce, checking for quality of goods, temperature, correct quantity as per order to suppliers and the storage of such goods in the appropriate area within the time limits set out in the department policy on HACCP. You must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge and compliance with the department policy on HACCP. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to prepare food for patients and/or staff using both cook/chill products and fresh produce, and to be able to check temperature levels and be aware of the Food Temperature Regulations. You will be responsible for supervising the small team whilst on duty. You must demonstrate a level of computer literacy sufficient to use the online rostering and ordering systems in place.
