Job Summary

The Communications Technician must have the demonstrated ability to operate and maintain satellite earth station systems. These systems include SATCOM terminals, Tech Control Facility (TCF) equipment, Cryptographic equipment, Security Systems, and Telephone Systems. Specific experience operating and maintaining AN/GSC-52B, AN/FRC-191 Family of Advanced Beyond Line-of-Site Terminal, and Defense Information Systems Network (DISN).
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
* Serves as a Functional Area Manager (FAM) for one or more functional areas. FAMs are required to meet requirements set forth in company policies, the Performance Work Statement (PWS), referenced publications and Host Nation requirements.
* Performs duties as a Quality Control Augmentee for respective FAMs areas.
* Uses standard electronic test equipment including multi meters, power meters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, sweep generators, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, Bite Error Rate Test Set and Protocol Analyzers.
* Submits required reports in accordance with DISA circulars.
* Maintains work center technical data library.
* Complies with regulations, laws and policies relating to the use, handling, storage, transfer and transportation of Classified, Cryptographic and Export controlled equipment, information and services.
* Enters corrective and preventative maintenance data into IMDS.
* Performs other duties not limited to general housekeeping, safety and environmental practices, requisitions parts, monitors bench stock and supply point, maintains data/logs/files, complies with security policies and PWS directive publications, completes ancillary training and participates in exercises.
* Works closely with US Government customer and Royal Air Force personnel to ensure mission success and continuous process improvement.
* Complies with various US Government programs including but not limited to: EMSEC, COMSEC, COMPUSEC, Cybersecurity, OPSEC, Industrial Security, etc.
* Complies with Host Base Physical Security, Environmental and Safety programs.
* Performs other duties as required.
Educational/Training Requirements
* High school graduate or equivalent.
Required Skills/Experience
* Two (2) years’ experience operating/maintaining terminals, systems and equipment as described above.
* Candidates must possess a current and final US SECRET security clearance.
* A valid US Driver’s License with at least 14 months remaining is required.
* Personnel will be required to obtain a UK Driver’s License within one year of entry into the UK.
* Personnel will be required to obtain and maintain authorization to live and work in the UK.
Work Environment
* Schedule: Full-time shift work.
* Travel: Yes.
* Work assignments can be both indoors and outdoors under various environmental conditions.
Physical Demands
* Required to lift, pull, or carry items of weight and size commensurate with job requirements.
* Additional duties may be assigned to support contract/mission support requirements in job related areas.
* May be required to handle hazardous material and/or collect hazardous waste.
Supervision
* Works under the general supervision of the Site Manager and Site Lead.
Clearance Requirements
* Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Security clearance eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase.
* Employment and start date is contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance.
