JMC Aviation are working with an MRO company based in Manchester, looking to recruit a new Safety and Compliance Officer to join their team. This client is an international line and base maintenance provider, operating a comprehensive level of support for commercial aircraft operators. As an independent MRO, they are able to adapt their approach to respond to rapidly changing requirements and provide services which include component repairs, overhauls, piece part manufacture, aircraft fuel tank repairs, aircraft maintenance, aircraft interiors and AOG support. This vacancy is available due to expansion. This is a Permanent Position based in Manchester. 37.5 hours per week, working Mon – Thurs 08:30 – 17:00 and Fridays 08:30 – 14:30. Salary and Benefits – Private Medical Insurance – Private Dental Insurance – Life Assurance 3x annual salary – 7% employer contribution towards company pension – 25 days annual leave – Buy up to 3 additional annual leave days in the year/Sell up to 5 annual leave days for the year – Employee Assistance programme – Employee referral bonus The Role The primary purpose of this role is responsible for administrative, analytical and investigative functions to develop, maintain and promote the highest standards of Compliance and Safety Management Other Duties Involve – Ensuring that the activities of the organisation are monitored for compliance with the applicable requirements and any additional requirements – Ensuring that any maintenance contracted to another maintenance organisation is monitored for compliance with the contract or work order; – Implementing a quality audit programme in which compliance with all maintenance procedures is reviewed at regular intervals in relation to each type of aircraft maintained – Monitoring and coordinate the response to compliance findings such that they are closed within the agreed timescales; – Monitoring the amendment of the organisation’s procedures and standard practices and their compliance with the current revision of Part-145 – Assessing suppliers of new and used components and materials for satisfactory product quality – Assessing subcontractors working under the Compliance Monitoring – Responsible for assessing external specialist services required to be used by the organisation in the performance of maintenance; – Establishing feedback from audit findings into the recurrent training programme – Processing the initial application, renewal or change to personnel certification authorisations – Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessment and management; – Performing safety investigations in accordance with defined protocols to identify effective interventions; – Establishing feedback from maintenance incidents/issues and feeding these back into the recurrent training programme; – Assisting the Director of Compliance and Safety with the development and management of Compliance and Safety documentation; In order to be successful in this role the Safety and Compliance Officer will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes: – Extensive experience working in a aircraft maintenance or airline environment; – Extensive experience working in a compliance environment – Auditing Experience – Excellent knowledge of Aviation standards in an airline maintenance environment (EASA) – Excellent knowledge of the application of Safety Management Systems – High standard of computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
