A new position has opened up for a AOV & Fire Alarm Maintenance Engineer to join our expanding team based in Greenhithe, Kent. You will be required to visit client premises mainly in the London area, with the possibility of nationwide travel and overnight stays .
The individual will be responsible for the servicing, breakdown cover and testing of electrical and fire alarm systems across a wide variety of client sites. The Maintenance Engineer must be able to identify and recommend action for faulty or redundant systems and where necessary, repair/replace system components to remove repetitive issues and ensure durability.
The role requires the maintaining of fire alarm systems and smoke venting systems on occupied developments and emergency call-out basis in line with contracted expectations. In order to successfully carry out this role you will require an understanding of smoke ventilation systems, inverters, dampers and detection systems and be able to work to tight deadlines in accordance with project requirements and the ability to safely perform lone working.
Responsibilities
* Maintaining of Fire Alarm and AOV systems
* Good knowledge of BS5839, BS5266 & BS7671
* Offering a comprehensive service to our customers' in accordance with British Standards in a defined area.
* Inclusion on out of hours call out rota (currently one week in every eight)

* Ability to work from schematics and drawings
* Ability to fault find issues
* Liaise with development on site Concierge / Building managers, Property managers, Design, Project Management and Installation and Commissioning departments
* Ongoing job role administration inclusive of daily report sheets, supplying the maintenance office-based staff with full equipment details of any faulty equipment, timesheets, vehicle checklists, expense forms etc.
* Understanding of smoke venting and fire alarm systems to BS5839 and BS7436 standards
