Finance Technology is currently looking for a talented Database Engineer with 5+ years of experience for its Hyderabad office. The Database Engineer will engineer solutions for multiple database technologies, and will be responsible for fast-paced, complex distributed database environments supporting both OLTP and OLAP systems across multiple platforms. A strong candidate will be able to rapidly troubleshoot complex technical problems under pressure, implement solutions that are massively scalable, while managing multiple customer groups. Deep knowledge of Oracle Database concepts, strong administration experience, and excellent interpersonal communication skills are required.
Key job responsibilities
1. Ownership of Oracle RAC clusters, working on a variety of development and maintenance projects in coordination with project and support teams.
2. Knowledge of all supporting infrastructure components, including operating systems, hardware/storage configurations and networks.
3. Excellent UNIX skills and a grasp of fundamental computing concepts such as system calls, memory management and program debugging.
4. Experience in system administration of LINUX, configuring storage arrays networks, disk configuration including multipath, knowledge of networking components such as Infiniband is highly desirable.
5. Analyze and tune database performance for high-volume, mission-critical applications.
6. Design and implement robust high availability solutions (e.g., Oracle RAC, Data Guard).
7. Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls and encryption with industry standards and regulations.
8. Design and implement scalable solutions to accommodate increasing data volumes and user loads.
9. Develop and maintain scripts for routine database administration tasks.
10. Rapidly diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in high-pressure situations.
11. Identify and implement best practices for database administration and engineering.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in Database Administration, particularly with Oracle databases.
3. Expert knowledge of Oracle 11g/12c/19c, including RAC and GRID Architecture.
4. Proven experience in performance tuning, backup/recovery, and capacity planning for OLTP and OLAP systems.
5. Advanced proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and UNIX/Linux shell scripting.
6. Experience managing large-scale, geographically diverse database environments.
7. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.
8. Expertise in implementing high availability solutions (e.g., Oracle FSFO, Data Guard).
9. Willingness to provide 24/7 operational support on a weekly rotation.
10. Experience with database automation and scripting for routine administration tasks.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Demonstrated ability to influence organizational database strategies.
2. Experience leading large-scale database transformation projects.
3. Experience mentoring junior database engineers.
4. Experience in consultancy role, assisting and mentoring junior DBA staff.
