An exciting vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Dietitian to work as a Paediatric Diabetes Dietitian for Morecambe Bay Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This part-time (0.5wte) post would ideally be suited to a specialist Dietitian looking to advance their skills and knowledge or an advanced Dietitian with relevant clinical experience.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for managing a complex caseload of Paediatric patients with Diabetes. You will be joining a supportive and experienced team of Consultants, Specialist Nurses, Dietitians, Dietetic Assistants and supporting admin and clerical staff who are responsible for providing a service across social and health care boundaries. You will work closely with the Paediatric Diabetes team, Dietitians and other professionals in both acute and primary care.
Working for our organisation
We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

Education and qualifications
* Post graduate Paediatric and/or Diabetes Dietetic qualification
* Leadership/first line management training
Experience
* Post registration Paediatric Dietetic experience at a Specialist level or above
Skills, ability and knowledge
* Paediatric Dietetic knowledge, skills and experience at Specialist or above level
* Diabetes Dietetic knowledge, skills and experience at Specialist or above level
* Advanced assessment, observation, evaluation and reporting skills
* Evidence of contribution to effective team working
* Self-motivated and enthusiastic
* Able to work flexibly to meet unexpected or unusual requirements
* Ability to travel between sites
