Instrument Engineer Job Specification
As an Instrument Engineer, you will work amongst a small team of engineers, contract support staff, and an admin team in a friendly office environment. Although an office-based role, there will be a requirement to attend meetings and provide commissioning support for systems at customer's sites. Site visits would normally be within the UK but on rare occasions may require worldwide travel. The role will manage control & instrumentation design and consultancy projects (circa £10K to £200K in size) from point of sale through to site commissioning. Being customer-facing, great communication skills from a technical and commercial perspective are essential. You will be responsible for a wide range of engineering design and project management tasks, with importance placed heavily on reading and interpreting technical documents to include industry standards, client specifications, P&IDs, logic diagrams, etc.
You will be an Instrument Engineer with the ability to apply problem-solving and analytical techniques to plan and carry out appropriate system testing. This position provides great opportunities for skills development and training, working in oil and gas, petrochemical, and power generation amongst other business sectors.
