The role
As an Interim Head of Business Relationship, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, you will be accountable for transforming the leadership and direction of the Relationship Management practice to deliver excellence in the creation and management of deep relationships between IT and the rest of the global Group. Working closely with the IT leadership team, you will support and inform our approach to wider engagement and help build the ‘personality’ of IT as core to the success of Babcock
In this role, the ‘how’ you do things will be just as important as ‘what’ you do and we are keen to see courageous ideas and challenge, presented with kindness and generosity of spirit. Building intimate relationships is a complex and iterative process so you will be actively supported to make a positive impact, using your judgement, at pace, to get things mostly right, most of the time.

You’ll deliver a number of key change objectives :
1. Metrics for understanding customer vision and need, perception of IT, effective demand and risk management
2. Framework and improvement plan for global BP governance aligned to IT and corporate strategy that ensures the commerciality and value of the practice
3. Framework and improvement plan for global ‘personality’, processes, ways of working and communication,
4. Build culture to be more embedded and trusted with courage to challenge
5. Recruit, train and mentor new team members aligned to the plans above
Day to Day you will:
6. Lead the Relationship Management practice, ensuring that they build deep and impactful relationships, are able to synthesise strategy and emergent priorities and represent IT to and from our customers so that we work on the right things at the right time
7. Define, govern and deliver a set of common frameworks to ensure a strong and dynamic alignment with the ITLT and senior customer stakeholders and ensure that there is a coherent IT narrative across the entire Group
8. Deliver against agreed annual and longer-term financial plan and budget, including forecasting, resource allocation and prioritisation
9. Act in accordance with good corporate governance principles mandated by the Group, with all delegated authority and expenditure limits and oversee adherence to limits for direct reports
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Interim Head of Business Relationship:
10. Experienced communicator at all levels of the organisation with high levels of written and verbal skills and the ability to influence and convince senior leaders
11. Management experience at a senior level working with IT professionals and a diverse group of stakeholders
12. Strong leadership skills backed by a drive for accuracy and outcomes that add value
13. Understanding of complex information and requirements backed by excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
14. Confidence in decision-making aligned with a good team-playing mentality and an ability to make sound decisions whilst working to tight deadlines and within constraints
15. Strong financial management
