Deliver high-quality research, which can be disseminated locally, nationally and internationally, including established research projects in the fields of tobacco control and weight management, and the development of new research projects. Collaborate with the NIHR funded Rhondda Cynon Taf Health Determinants Collaboration (RCT HDRC), encouraging and facilitating collaboration and partnership between health, local authority, academic and third sector partners. Increase public health research activity locally through opening and recruiting to UK-wide public health portfolio studies. Promote research amongst public health colleagues via capacity and capability building activities, encouraging staff to undertake research projects and utilise evidence-based, data-driven approaches to inform practice. Build partnerships and collaborate with colleagues from other organisations and sectors. Coordinate, secure and manage research funding streams, delivering project expenditure within budget. Manage research governance processes for existing and new research studies in CTMUHB.
