What You’ll be doing:
The Personnel Security Controller (PSC) role will be a key role within the People Team with responsibility to the Board of Directors for the strategic development of an effective personnel security culture within the company and the day-to-day management and delivery of personnel security policy, procedures, risk assessment, management and general security processes. Responsible for implementation of National Security Vetting aftercare within the company and any subordinate organisations that the company provides sponsorship for.
The role scope extends to the assurance of vetting across all KBS Maritime Employees, Contractors, Secondees and Subcontractors. As a new function within KBS Maritime, the PSC will be responsible for the development of an inhouse capability, processes and procedures and will be expected to manage the accreditation of KBS Maritime to the Industry Personnel Security Assurance framework to allow the business to become self-sufficient as soon as possible.
Elements of this role can be carried out by other individuals, such as a suitably empowered Deputy or vetting team which will need to be appointed by the PSC. However, responsibility for oversight and delivery of any of the activities associated with the role rests with the Personnel Security Controller.
You’ll Have:
Essentially, you’ll have experience within a Personnel Vetting capacity (such as a Vetting Officer role or similar), have recent exposure to the completion of BPSS clearance protocols and have exposure to working with external security vetting providers.
Additionally, having previously worked in accordance with IPSA accreditation, you’ll have exposure to working in a defence environment (desirable), coupled with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to ensure the outcomes of any security process are managed effectively.

You’ll have strong communication skills, both written and spoken with an ability to engage and influence key internal and external stakeholders.
With this role being newly created within KBS Maritime, you’ll challenge the status quo and agree solutions and action plans with line management.
