Job Title: Commercial Manager (QS)

A leading infrastructure contractor with 30+ years of experience in utilities, civil engineering, and infrastructure is seeking a Commercial Manager to join its senior team.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage and mentor the commercial team, supervising Quantity Surveyors and delegating tasks effectively.
* Provide commercial support to project teams, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
* Oversee cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting, including accurate cash flow and cost-to-complete updates.
* Ensure robust, accurate, and timely cost and value reporting in line with business requirements.
* Interpret and advise on contract terms, obligations, and risks, protecting the company’s commercial interests.
* Manage subcontractor letting, negotiation, and financial administration.
* Ensure effective collaboration between the commercial and operational site teams.
* Support the Contract Manager in the smooth administration of contracts from start-up through to final account.
* Produce and maintain all essential project documentation and reports to agreed deadlines.
* Attend site meetings, contributing to the resolution of commercial, contractual, and construction issues.
* Identify and implement improvements in commercial processes and procedures.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior/Managing QS in utilities, EV charging, or construction.
* Strong knowledge of contract negotiation, cost control, and financial management.
* Experience managing NEC, JCT, or similar contracts.
* Ability to interpret and advise on complex contract terms and conditions.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
