About the Role
Equitas is delighted to partner with a well-established and forward-thinking school to find a passionate History Teacher. This exciting full-time role will involve teaching History across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in a vibrant and diverse school community. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to inspire students and foster a love of history while ensuring a high standard of academic achievement.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated educator with a strong commitment to delivering innovative and engaging lessons, helping students to gain a deep understanding of historical events, their impact, and their relevance to today’s world.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality history lessons that engage and challenge students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
* Create and implement schemes of work, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum and the school’s standards.
* Use a variety of teaching methods, including practical activities, group work, and project-based learning, to enhance student understanding.
* Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners and ensure inclusion for students of varying abilities.
* Provide feedback and assessments to monitor student progress, setting individual targets to support their growth.
* Actively contribute to departmental meetings and collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve the history curriculum.
* Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and discussion.
* Support students in their personal and academic development, encouraging them to strive for excellence.
* Participate in extracurricular activities and school events as required.
* Uphold the school’s ethos and contribute positively to the school community.
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
* A degree in History or a related subject.
* Experience teaching History at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. (NQTs/ECTs are encouraged to apply.)
* Strong subject knowledge with a passion for History and the ability to make the subject engaging for students.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
* A commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children.
