Job Title: Compliance Manager
Location: Portsmouth (with travel to sites in Portsmouth, Havant, Gosport, Fareham, and Winchester)
Contract: Full time, 37 hours per week, 6 months
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience up to £31.34 per hour
About the Role:
We are seeking a committed and experienced Compliance Manager to lead a newly formed Compliance team within Building Services. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring all statutory compliance duties across nearly 17,000 residential properties and 900 corporate assets.
You will manage and develop a team overseeing key compliance areas such as:
1. Gas servicing and repairs
2. Asbestos management
3. Water quality (Responsible Person for Water Safety)
4. Building health and safety
5. Lift servicing and repairs
6. Mechanical and electrical servicing and maintenance
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead a high-performing compliance team across multiple technical areas
2. Manage a significant annual budget (c. £10m)
3. Ensure full statutory compliance and 100% certification across services
4. Oversee contract procurement, service delivery, and performance monitoring
5. Provide strategic advice and support to senior leaders and other service areas
6. Foster a culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For:
1. A degree in a property-related field and preferably Chartered (e.g. RICS, CIBSE, IOSH)
2. Strong knowledge of compliance legislation and health & safety standards
3. Experience managing large teams, complex budgets, and strategic service contracts
4. Excellent technical knowledge across compliance areas
5. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
6. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits
