Job description St Andrews Links is a great organisation committed to the Home of Golf as the world’s most renowned golf complex where we deliver memorable experiences for every golfer to Play, Learn, Shop and Relax on a daily basis. Our seven golf courses, including the Old Course are our core product and principal business driver but over recent decades our organisation has diversified and expanded to where we are today. We are currently looking for Caddie Assistants to join our Caddie Department for the 2025 season, to give our customers a memorable experience by embracing our core values to support our vision. The role consists of helping with day-to-day operations ensuring customer service levels are delivered and maintained at all times. This is an excellent opportunity to work at the Home of Golf. To be successful in this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills and values that follow; • Good team player who works effectively with others. • Good communication skills. • Takes personal responsibility. • Ability to use own initiative. • Flexible approach to work. • Positive attitude to change • Knowledge of Golf (essential). • Numerate and Literacy skills (essential). • Experience in dealing successfully with customers and demonstrating effective customer care (essential). • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation (desirable). • Previous caddie experience (preferable) Main Responsibilities • Assist the Caddie Manager with caddie service within the provisions of the bylaws and local caddie rules. • Undertake advance administration of caddie requests for day-to-day tour operator business and for competitions and tournaments. • Responsible for the efficient and effective management of the putting area. • Provide customers with accurate information, knowledge of the links and surrounding area. • Ensuring the security of cash handling following the Trust’s policy and procedures. • Ensure effective and positive working relationships with all partners/relevant groups/organisations. • To understand the Home of Golf's policy on Health and Safety and to ensure that all duties performed are carried out with full regard to the safety of customers, visitors, contractors and other employees. • Undertake administrative duties as necessary. • Ensure high standards of customer care are maintained at all times As one of our team, we always need you to Embody our St Andrews Links Values and Behaviours in all you do: A team of team s… … At SAL, everyone is made to feel part of the one team.
