Medivet Wem has an exciting new opportunity for a Veterinary Care Assistant to join the team on a part time basis for 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will be an integral part of the practice team, working with our Veterinary Surgeons, qualified Nurses, and Student nurses to provide exceptional care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide a gold standard service to our patients and clients.
* Follow cleaning protocols to maintain cleanliness of the clinical environment.
* Prepare and maintain medical equipment.
* Deliver patient monitoring and care, including everyday care: walking, toileting, and feeding.
* Ensure the completion of all pre and post operation activity.
* Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
* Dispense any medication required under the guidance of the Veterinary team.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
This role will be National Living Wage if you’re aged 21 or over, and National Minimum Wage if you’re aged under 21. This role will also involve 1 in 6 full weekends to be worked at the nearby Hospital.
The hours and days are to be determined, but the ideal candidate will need to be available for work Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. An idea of the shift pattern that may be required: Tuesday 9am-3pm or 10-4pm, Thursday 9-3pm or 10-4pm, and Friday 8.30-5pm.
Your Skills and Experience
* Experience of working as part of a team and building positive working relationships with colleagues.
* Able to provide exceptional care to clients and patients.
* Client care skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Able to prioritise a range of tasks and own workload.
* Flexible and willing to learn.
* An understanding of the purpose and importance of regulation and compliance.
