A recognised high volume manufacturer are currently looking to strengthen their Tooling department with the appointment of a Tool Maker.
Working from their manufacturing facility in Shropshire, the Tool Maker will be responsible for:
1. Preparation and maintenance of existing tooling according to requirements.
2. Effectively identifies day to day tooling issues and implements corrective action where required.
3. Cleaning of all production tooling to ensure on time delivery and schedule adherence goals are met.
4. Ensures all tooling is safe and production ready at the time returned for production use, following correct preventative maintenance (PM) process.
5. Ensures Leader is advised when assignments cannot be completed as planned.
6. Supports coordination of engineering changes and supports maintenance of spare parts.
7. Prepares and tests tools by laying out / setting up / machining.
8. May design / make tools / templates to produce prototype parts of various materials including generating bill of material and complete fabrication and validation.
9. Verifies conformance of machined and/or repaired tools to specifications by checking dimensions / clearances / alignments.
10. May make parts of various plant machines and tools as required.
11. Fits and assembles parts and test completed tools for proper operation.
12. Sets up and carefully monitors tools and performs inspections prior to removing tooling from the machine.
13. Follow up repair work by seeking feedback from the production and quality departments and completing a record of the work undertaken.
14. Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant.
The successful candidate should have a minimum of an Apprenticeship and be familiar with die casting processes.
