SEN 1:1 Support Assistant – Inclusive Primary School – Islington Role: SEN 1:1 Support Assistant Nature: Full-Time, Permanent Start: April 2025 Salary: £21,000 - £25,000 (depending on experience) An inclusive and welcoming primary school in Islington is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN 1:1 Support Assistant to join their team from April 2025. Role Highlights: Full-time, permanent position at an inclusive primary school in Islington Provide 1:1 support to a student with special educational needs, including autism (ASC), speech and language difficulties, or moderate learning needs Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement strategies and interventions tailored to the student’s individual needs Support the student both in the classroom and during other school activities, ensuring they are fully engaged and integrated into school life Help build the student's confidence, social skills, and independence, fostering positive relationships with peers and staff Monitor the student’s progress, providing feedback and adjustments to support their development Participate in team meetings and professional development to ensure continuous growth and learning Experience & Qualifications: Previous experience working with children with SEN (preferred) A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children with additional needs Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals A positive, proactive attitude to supporting children’s learning and development Enhanced DBS check required Why Join Us?
