What you will do
Under the direction and guidance of the Project Controls Manager, the Project Controller is responsible for planning either a group of related projects (similar products) or a large programme. They will work closely with the IPT Work Package Managers and Project Managers to produce and maintain fully resourced multi-level project schedules.
1. Delivers Project Controls on Projects through the application of consistent processes, methods, governance and provision of guidance to the wider IPT in line with Leonardo processes.
2. Ownership of the Project Schedules - drive and promote optimal schedule quality and best practice management techniques including application of schedule risk analysis at all stages of the project lifecycle.
3. Apply resource scheduling techniques to optimise schedules, identify and resolve conflicts.
4. Provide Project Controls support to the establishment and management of activities in the bid phase to ensure best practice is followed, risks managed and schedules can transition to execution with minimal impact.
5. Conduct what if analysis to drive decision making and risk mitigation.
6. Application of Schedule Risk Analysis techniques including identification, methods of analysis and recommendations for project team on how to manage/mitigate.
7. Apply Project Controls metrics and measures (inc EV) and reports to IPT / PCM on the outcomes, alongside recommendations to address issues.
8. Actively contribute to IPT and Business area Project reviews (PPRP, Schedule Reviews etc) through delivering the Project Controls inputs.
9. Build and maintain good working relationships with all functions across applicable Projects in order to influence project activities.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
1. Practical and demonstrable experience of Project Planning and Control principles.
2. Experience using techniques and procedures e.g. Earned Value, Work Breakdown Structure and Network Planning.
3. Proficient on SAP/Primavera Tool for planning and project management elements or similar planning tool.
4. Breadth of understanding in all parts of the project lifecycle and experience in Planning and Execution Phases.
5. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, using data and analysis to support line of reasoning.
6. Good level of business knowledge to perform what if scenarios.
7. Ability to work independently within well defined procedures and require minimal supervision.
8. Holds APMG Project Controls Foundation and Practitioner Level Certification or meets the criteria to undertake this training.
