Job Title: Caretaker Employment Type: 12 weeks Initial period Location: Bow, London Pay: (£13.00 PAYE / £15.96 LTD Umbrella (Inclusive of Holiday Pay) Service Care Solutions are looking for a Caretaker who is customer focused and flexible for a client based in North London on a temporary basis. You’ll be responsible Maintaining estate cleanliness, safety, and security by sweeping, cleaning communal areas, removing rubbish/graffiti, and reporting repairs. Manage waste by rotating bins, clearing refuse chutes, and replacing bins after collection. Conduct daily risk assessments, address hazards, grit pathways during snow/ice, and assist emergency services when needed. Perform minor maintenance (e.g., replacing light bulbs, clearing drains, removing weeds). Report tenancy breaches such as noise complaints, illegal subletting, and abandoned vehicles. Act as a point of contact for residents, distribute newsletters, and communicate with teams. Use cleaning equipment (e.g., leaf blowers, sweepers, jet washers) and document work using a PDA device. Maintain company vehicles, complete paperwork, and report accidents/incidents. Provide weekend cover and perform additional duties as required by management. You will have responsibility for ensuring that estate blocks are kept clean and left hazard free at each visit and high standards are maintained. With an understanding and awareness of Health and Safety issues, you’ll ensure that your work and time is recorded using the systems in place and that all repairs or H&S issues are photographed with details referred to the appropriate teams. Acting as a point of contact you’ll ensure there is good communication with all teams and departments and promote a positive image, reporting any tenancy issues identified or suspected to the Housing Officer.
