QA Manager
Reporting To: Factory Technical Manager

Site: Cranswick Convenience Foods – Milton Keynes
Job Purpose:
As the QA Manager, you will lead the site’s Quality Assurance function to ensure the safety of Cranswick products. You will set high standards and processes, seek continuous improvement, and foster a food safety culture across the site.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with the Quality Manual System, Cranswick Manufacturing Standard, BRC Global Standard for Food Safety, and Retailer Codes of Practices.
2. Agree on corrective actions, root cause analysis, and preventative actions with area managers/supervisors and ensure timely implementation.
3. Develop expertise in QA processes to continuously improve food safety, legality, and quality compliance.
4. Drive the Food Safety Culture and KPI performance of the site.
5. Lead and prepare for 3rd Party and Customer visits, ensuring the site is audit-ready every day.
6. Collaborate with Operations and Technical teams to reduce complaints and non-conformances.
7. Conduct internal audits as directed by the Factory Technical Manager.
8. Lead and inspire a successful team, setting effective objectives, providing feedback, support, and stretch targets.
9. Perform any other tasks as reasonably requested by your line manager.
Technical Skills and Experience:
10. Formal qualification in food science/technology (minimum HNC, ideally degree level).
11. Strong understanding of food manufacturing requirements in line with BRC and retail clients COP Tesco and M&S.
12. Good understanding of listeria and allergen management.
13. Proven track record of closing out complex non-conformances within deadlines.
14. Experience in a Senior QA or Compliance role.
15. Previous experience leading an engaged and high-performing team.
16. Advantageous qualifications (can be trained by Cranswick): HACCP Level 4, Food Safety Level 4, Listeria Level 4, Lead Auditor.
