The Role
Shearwater Marine Services is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team to support a wide variety of marine engineering projects. The successful applicant will oversee costing and budgets of projects in fields such as commercial diving, marine engineering, welding, fabrication, inspection, and defence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supporting major civil and marine engineering projects.
2. Providing engineering input from initial assessment through to technical and economic feasibility.
3. Project delivery, planning, monitoring, and acceptance.
4. Reviewing and preparing technical and non-technical reports to a high standard including specifications, reports, proposals, calculations, and contracts.
5. Providing support on technical tenders, business development, and client relations as required.
6. Attending client and site visits as required.
7. Reviewing and preparing technical specifications and design drawings.
8. Working effectively on several projects concurrently to deliver to tight deadlines.
9. Support and mentor the career development of junior team members.
Required Skills
* The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified or working towards a degree.
* Ideally have previous NEC contract experience.
* Excellent experience in leading the commercial function of several projects.
A salary of between £30k - £34k.
