Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes the development and well-being of young children. Your role will involve engaging with children through play-based learning, ensuring their individual needs are met, and fostering positive relationships with both children and their families.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and education to children in the nursery setting.
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records of their development.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to childcare.
- Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and outdoor play.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised environment that meets health and safety standards.
- Support children in developing social skills, emotional resilience, and independence.
- Drive initiatives that enhance the nursery experience for both children and families.
- Exhibit leadership qualities by mentoring junior staff and contributing to team development.
Qualifications
- A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education or Childcare (Level 3 or above).
- Previous experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is essential.
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm demeanour under pressure.
- A passion for early childhood education with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Leadership skills that inspire others within the team.
- A valid driving licence is desirable but not essential.
