Farnham Pharmaceutical Repackaging Unit
(Located in North Lane, Aldershot close to A331)
The Pharmacy Repackaging Unit based in Aldershot, close to the A331, currently supplies Frimley Park and many other hospitals with pre-packs and emergency kits.
You will join our very busy team supplying hospital pharmacies, accident and emergency units, and out-patient clinics with patient-ready packs. No previous experience is necessary; full training will be given.
Responsibilities:
1. To undertake a range of production duties under the management of the Chief Technician/Production Manager, ensuring a quality service to customers.
2. To be responsible for receipt and distribution of pharmaceuticals, ensuring good stock control within the unit.
3. To pre-pack bulk pharmaceuticals into A&E packs, OPD packs, and ward packs for all customers of the unit, using appropriate packaging equipment.
4. To observe the requirements of good manufacturing practice (GMP) to uphold the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency (MHRA) assembly licence.
5. To overlabel pre-packed medicines for A&E, OPD, and Clinic use.
6. To observe COSHH regulations when pre-packing and storing bulk pharmaceuticals.
7. To adhere to current procedures and keep up to date with procedure changes in line with MHRA inspections and departmental changes.
8. To complete accurate detailed batch records.
9. To safely dispose of waste pharmaceuticals.
10. To shrink-wrap finished products ready for distribution and be responsible for the safe use of the shrink-wrapping machine.
11. To keep accurate records for environmental monitoring of all areas to maintain suitable storage conditions for drugs.
12. To ensure accurate filing of Production Unit paperwork.
13. To be responsible for the accurate receipt of goods to the department, ensuring incoming stock is of the correct description, quantity, and quality.
14. To update and maintain accurate computer and paper records of all receipts of goods.
15. To be responsible for the safe operation of the fork-lifter truck.
16. To provide an accurate distribution service to all the unit’s customers.
17. To issue goods on the pharmacy computer system and assemble customer orders.
18. To maintain accurate computer and manual stock records for all finished products.
19. To assist in packaging of customer orders for transportation.
20. To complete relevant documentation for transportation of consignments to customers.
21. To be responsible for stock rotation of bulk materials and finished products and assist in stock taking activities.
22. To co-operate with and assist with training of new staff and attend training courses relevant to the post.
23. To be involved in the Continual Professional Development (CPD) Programme.
24. To answer telephone and help with customer queries where appropriate.
25. To co-operate and assist with the introduction and implementation of new technology and systems of work.
26. To undertake any other duties which may be required from time to time by the Production Manager.
27. To participate in departmental staff meetings.
28. To take personal responsibility for the accurate and timely input of information onto the computer system, ensuring the maintenance of a reliable database.
29. To assist with the routine verification of stock levels to ensure accuracy and reliability of database information.
