Rockstar Dundee is on the lookout for a talented Cinematic Artist to join the team and cover a broad range of media assets. This is a full-time permanent position based out of Rockstar’s unique game development studio in the heart of Dundee.
WHAT WE DO
1. We work closely with the Cinematic Media team from storyboard to asset delivery and help maintain high standards across a wide variety of video and image-based projects.
2. We use our game engine as a blank canvas to build scenes and create a variety of unique narratives.
3. We aim to deliver unique and engaging content on all projects, using story telling methods, camera work and editing techniques.
RESPONSIBILITIES
4. Build unique scenes within the in-game environment.
5. Capture engaging visuals in both video and image formats.
6. Work both independently and as part of a team towards a common goal.
7. Support various projects from concept to final delivery.
8. Be involved in storyboarding and idea/concept discussions.
QUALIFICATIONS
9. Experience creating visual content in digital or standard media (video, photography, gaming, etc.), backed by a showreel.
10. An enthusiasm for and extensive knowledge of movies, TV pop culture, and music videos.
11. Deep interest for in-game artistic direction.
12. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
13. Thorough understanding of and passion for Rockstar’s games specifically.
SKILLS
14. Ability to create, capture and edit in a variety of visual styles.
15. Excellent understanding of visual flow and composition.
16. Ability to adhere to short form and long form deadlines.
17. Impeccable attention to detail is a must.
18. Demonstrable knowledge of editing software (Any of following - AVID, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, DaVinci).
19. Game engine experience (Such as Unreal or Unity).
20. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
21. Self-motivated with the ability to perform jobs efficiently.
22. Possess disciplined workflow practices with the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
23. Use own initiative and problem-solving skills to bypass often complex issues.
24. Ability to create visuals from detailed briefs.
PLUSES
Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.
25. General knowledge of how game animation works.
26. Awareness of a major animation package (e.g. Maya, MotionBuilder, etc.).
27. Video editing of captured content.
