What's involved with this role: Temporary Corporate Accommodation Officer – Property Services Job Ref: Cheshire E 5250364 Pay Rate: £16.12 per hour PAYE Hours per week: 37 Monday - Friday, 8.30am to 5pm Role Length: This opening assignment is for 2-3 months City: Crewe, Cheshire The purpose of the role is to co-ordinate the provision of fully serviced offices and other accommodation for Council staff in order to assist the Building Support Manager in ensuring that Council building is used effectively and provide efficient and suitable working space for occupiers. Key Responsibilities: Interpret Council office accommodation policies and create CAD plans in order to assess accommodation requirements for all Council staff and make recommendations to the Building Support Manager so that all Council staff are located in suitably located and serviced offices and premises. Carry out internal consultation with end-users to assess corporate accommodation needs, implementing the relevant information management policies to ensure all corporate accommodation is fit for purpose, meets service needs and is utilised effectively. Plan, manage and co –ordinate office moves including liaising with key personnel in the areas where moves are taking place in order achieve smooth transition to new office space. Analyse and prioritise data collected through internal consultation to inform the preparation of the Council’s Corporate Accommodation Plan and prepare outline project briefs based on the information to prioritise revenue and capital improvement schemes. Plan and co –ordinate building and improvement works and services in all corporate office buildings in order to ensure work is completed to agreed timescales. Assess all furniture and equipment needs for corporate accommodation and manage the procurement process so that all new furniture and equipment maximises space utilisation and ensures all corporate accommodation is occupied efficiently. Lead meetings with building user groups, staff representatives and other stakeholders to agree building standards, receive feedback and progress any building related issues. Monitor all relevant corporate accommodation budgets and payments to contractors & consultants and make regular reports to the Building Support Manager on the financial performance of corporate accommodation portfolio. Co –ordinate the compilation of key statistics and performance data in respect of the corporate office accommodation stock in order to demonstrate that best value is being achieved in the use of office space. Jobholder supervises day to day work of any project team and contractors working on office relocation projects to ensure that they are delivered on time and within budget. Qualifications: Minimum Prince 2 Foundation Project Management qualification. Skills & Experience: Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation. Experience in managing complex office accommodation and rationalisation projects. Experience of dealing with complex office relocation projects across multiple sites. Ability to manage a range of office relocation projects simultaneously and delivering to time and budget. Experience of monitoring and supervising the work of external consultants and contractors. Practical experience of applying concepts and theories to implement best practice in provision of office accommodation. Ability to interpret policies and legislation and develop new working procedures. Experience in monitoring and accounting for project budgets and drafting project reports. Ability to manage and motivate support staff and contractors to deliver results within a project management environment. Knowledge of best practice in provision and rationalisation of office accommodation. Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite, Adobe Pro).
