ABOUT CSVPA CSVPA offers an outstanding international pre-university educational experience to students aged 14 from all over the world. Students study in buildings in the heart of the City of Cambridge on courses ranges from Pre-Foundation to Masters Levels. JOB OVERVIEW As a Catering Assistant you will be working within the Catering Department on a full-time basis working 40 hours per week. The position is a varied role, and perfect for an individual who has prior kitchen/catering experience looking to progress their skill set and gain further knowledge and experience within the industry. Typical daily duties will involve cleaning of the kitchen to a high standard, assisting chefs with food preparation, in addition to the making of sandwiches & baguettes for the coffee bar and front of house service to our staff and students. Additional responsibilities include but are by no means limited to: Maintaining the high level of hygiene standards throughout the catering establishment Ensuring fridge & freezer temperatures are recorded are in line with food safety regulations Adhering to Health & Safety standards ensuring the safety of staff and students at all times Ensure all issues in the day to day running of the kitchen are reported to the Head Chef The post holder will have the ultimate responsibility for all the above functions. He or she will need to possess a caring attitude and a good sense of customer service. An ability to work using one’s own initiative as well as being a good team player is a pre-requisite. Experience gained within a residential environment would be of use.
