Job overview
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, self-motivated, well organised individual to work as a site Team Leader within our Inventory Management service.
We provide a Inventory Management Service at each of our 4 main sites within in the Trust and we are advertising one Team leader at the following site:
Wansbeck General Hospital,
This is a fixed term contract covering a secondment until 31st March 2026.
The post holder will provide leadership and manage the day to day operations for the Site Inventory Management team to ensure the provision of a Inventory Management service for a specific hospital site across Wards/Department and Theatres environment within the hospital.
Main duties of the job
The Inventory Team has overall responsible for the provision of inventory services (exc. pharmacy) across Northumbria Healthcare Trust (NHCT). The Inventory Team Leader will ensure reordering and replenishing of stock, taking receipt of deliveries, stock level monitoring, maintaining minimal stock levels, stock rotation and the tracking of stock across multiple sites by onsite Inventory Co-Ordinator's.
The post holder will provide leadership and manage the day to day operations for the Site Inventory Management team to ensure the provision of a Inventory Management service for a specific hospital site across Wards/Department and Theatres environment within the hospital.
Responsibilities will also include sickness absence management, and compiling of staff rosters, assisting in staff appraisals, staff training and any performance /disciplinary issues.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Supporting the IM Manager the post holder will lead effective staff 121 meetings to inform, engage and motivate IM staff. Assisting in establishing a clear focus and direction for the team, ensuring all members understand their role within the department, and the Trust.
They will be key point of contact liaising with clinical staff being visible, accessible, and co-ordinating all aspects of Inventory Management for their hospital site.
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Requirement to demonstrate leadership skills and behavior gained from Team Leader apprenticeship or equivalent vocational level 3 qualification in leadership or relevant experience of effective management of teams
* Knowledge of professional purchasing principles acquired through vocational level 3 qualification or Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Foundation, plus knowledge of contract law acquired through short courses and experience or equivalent.
* Educated to an undergraduate degree level or equivalent experience in inventory management.
Experience
* Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools
* Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods
