Financial Controller – Ports & Terminals - UK About the Role DP World have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join our UK Finance team. This role is responsible for managing DP World UK’s financial activities such as assisting with developing policies and procedures related to finance management and budget preparation. You will work with the Senior UK finance controller, departments and stakeholders to provide advice on financial affairs and provides advice on financial management issues. Also working together with stakeholders in financial long-term planning according to DP World's strategy and objectives. Location: Southampton Port Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri) NOTE : As a UK Role, there is a requirement to travel to and work from both DP World Southampton and DP World London Gateway. The UK Financial Controller should visit the site that they are not located regularly, according to business need. How you will contribute Financial Control All revenue is captured, invoiced and collected in a timely manner while ensuring DP World UK customers continue to enjoy a favorable business experience; All operational costs are correctly accounted for and that responsible departments are fully involved in the cost control and reporting process; All items of Capex are correctly reported and controlled both as assets under construction and post capitalization. Both from internal reporting and Tax perspectives; Provide all financial data required by the Accountants in a form to ensure accurate reporting to London Gateway, DP World Southampton, Region and Group; All finance systems, and associated interfaces, to be kept up to date and additional functionality constantly reviewed; Manage cash flows from trading, internal and external investment in each company to minimise cash balances while avoiding payment issues; Ensure all requirements of external funding are fully complied with; Continue to improve and develop cash forecasting; Manage the internal approval process. Regulatory Assist in the preparation of Statutory accounts for all DP World UK active & dormant companies ahead of deadline; VAT, CIS and all other HMG reporting is submitted on an accurate and timely basis; Manage audits of London Gateway and Southampton which will also include dealing with Internal audit and the Govt. of Dubai Auditors; All accounting compliant with UK and International standards; Fully apply HSE policy in all aspects of the departments activity and at all interfaces with other departments. Strategic Contribute to constant business process improvement; Help the Senior UK financial controller set departmental goals to align with the business objectives; Manage London Gateway and Southampton banking relationships and work alongside the Head of Finance to maintain funding relationships. People Help the Senior UK financial controller to constantly improve UK team performance culture to improve people and their outputs; Promote collaborative working as a UK Finance team; Ensure all HR policies are followed; Manage, coach and mentor individuals within your teams; Responsible for ensuring individuals under your remit achieve objectives; Work with customers to achieve win: win outcomes. What you will bring Professional financial qualification (Degree preferred). Proven business track record. Able to deal with multiple complex issues simultaneously. Used to dealing with tight deadlines and time pressures. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to build strong relationships to deliver improved performance. Strong communication skills at all levels. UK and International accounting standards knowledge. Extensive management experience combined with strong leadership skills.
