Job summary The Trust is seeking a general adult consultant psychiatrist who will work across Rose Ward, an all-female adult acute ward and Laurel Ward, all-male adult acute ward at Springfield Hospital. The caseload will be shared with a Multi-Professional Approved Clinician (MPAC) who also has expertise of working with people who have learning disability and/or are autistic. This is a new post. Rose Ward and Laurel Ward were originally situated in Queen Mary's Hospital Roehampton, but moved to Springfield in June 2023, as part of the Trust's estates modernisation plan, which has resulted in all of the adult acute inpatient wards being only on 2 hospital sites instead of 3. Both sites, at Springfield and Tolworth Hospitals, are undergoing extensive new building and refurbishment works. Main duties of the job This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and dynamic consultant psychiatrist to join this friendly team. Rose Ward and Laurel Ward form part of the inpatient provision of the Trust's Acute and Urgent Care Service Line, which includes 8 acute adult wards and a PICU, based on 2 sites, Springfield Hospital in Tooting, and Tolworth Hospital in Surbiton. The Team offers training and education to a range of undergraduate and post graduate students mainly from St George's University of London/South London Deanery and Kingston, Guildford and Roehampton Universities. There are opportunities for the post holder to conduct research, audit, or quality improvement initiatives for which support can be provided. The post holder is expected to participate fully in leadership and quality improvement initiatives.
