Are you interested in web systems, full stack development, and user interfaces? We have an opportunity for a skilled Web Developer to join our team. As a Web Developer for Automated Customer Systems, you will work alongside highly experienced programmers, engineers, and system developers to create intuitive web-based user interfaces for our microelectronics engineering software solutions. This includes developing secure customer web interfaces, data management systems, and back-end visualization systems.
About the role and a summary of key duties & responsibilities
As a Web Developer for Automated Customer Systems, you will play a crucial role in the development of our computational infrastructure, which is vital for providing exceptional support to our customers and partners. You will have the opportunity to work on both on-premise and cloud-based systems, constantly improving their functionality and efficiency. Your main responsibilities will include:
* Developing aesthetically pleasing and dynamic web interfaces for external customers and internal management systems.
* Enhancing existing web-based systems that provide customer portals and user interfaces to complex microelectronics design environments in secure virtual private clouds (AWS and Azure).
* Ensuring the security of data by following thorough procedures with meticulous attention to detail in secure coding processes.
To apply for this placement, we are looking for the following:
Essential:
* Currently enrolled on an undergraduate degree course and returning to university/studies to complete your undergraduate degree following the placement.
* Are required or have requested to take an industrial placement year.
* Have the right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the placement.
* Able to commence employment in summer 2025.
* Studying relevant degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar with degree content relevant to the vacancy.
* Proven ability in software development, especially scripting languages.
* Good understanding of HTML and CSS and appreciation of the principles of good web design.
* Understanding of how data may be mapped to database architectures for dynamically served content.
* Demonstrate a logical approach to software debugging and a genuine interest in discovering more about web systems development.
* Solid grasp of modern online system security principles.
* Diligent, reliable and hardworking with good social skills and the ability to identify and communicate relevant technical information in English.
