Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Lawyer (Contracts & Commercial) based in Dorchester, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Lawyer will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and commercial agreements. Day-to-day tasks include providing legal advice on contractual and commercial matters, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and collaborating with various departments within the council. The role also involves handling disputes and providing risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
* A strong background in Contracts Law and Commercial Law
* Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements
* Experience in providing legal advice and ensuring regulatory compliance
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
* Qualified solicitor or barrister with a current practicing certificate
* Experience working in a public sector or local government environment is a plus
* Bachelor's degree in Law or related field
