CFO Opportunity with The Cranmer Education Trust
We are seeking an exceptional finance professional to join our leadership team as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our financial strategy and management, ensuring the effective use of our resources and maintaining financial transparency.
About the Role
The CFO will report directly to the Board of Trustees and will be responsible for leading a small central team of qualified and experienced accountants/finance managers. The role will require close collaboration with the Director of Estates to oversee the financial management of our estates strategy and capital spending.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the MAT sector and experience in financial leadership in schools or trusts. They will be able to lead, communicate, and take people with them, from the central team, through the schools, when engaging with the DfE, when reporting to the Trust Board.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the financial strategy and management of the Trust, ensuring the effective use of resources and maintaining financial transparency.
2. Report directly to the Board of Trustees, providing regular financial updates and recommendations.
3. Oversee the financial management of our estates strategy and capital spending, in collaboration with the Director of Estates.
4. Lead a small central team of qualified and experienced accountants/finance managers, providing guidance and support as needed.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have accountancy qualifications and experience at the right level (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) and can lead the technical aspects of the role to ensure accountability for public money.
