The role
Will report directly to the Financial Director and assist in supervising and developing a small accounting team. This is a varied role tailored around the right finance professional with development opportunities on offer. The position includes preparation of monthly management accounts, supporting budgeting processes, oversight of transactional processes, process improvement, financial analysis, and more.
Your new role
Your key duties will involve overseeing a small finance team, providing mentorship and training support, assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial analysis, and monitoring and reporting on cash flow trends. You will perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations, support budgeting and forecasting activities, prepare and submit various HMRC returns, and oversee payroll and payment runs. You will work closely with the Financial Director to assist in implementing basic financial controls to reduce risk, improve operational efficiency with accounting processes, and be involved in ad-hoc financial projects and duties to support business growth. The position will be tailored around the right finance professional, with future development opportunities if desired.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this hands-on Finance Manager role, you will need experience in a similar position. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage workloads effectively. You will have key communication skills to build both internal and external relationships at all levels, a hands-on and adaptable working approach, and a willingness to learn and support business growth. Experience with financial systems, key MS Excel skills, and ideally familiarity with working within a small to medium-sized organization is required. You will be qualified by experience, AAT qualified, or studying for CIMA, ACCA, or ACA. Experience supervising and mentoring other team members, a manufacturing sector background, and knowledge of Sage financial systems would be advantageous but not essential.

This unique Finance Manager role offers a permanent salary between £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependant on experience), based near Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire.
