Operations Assistant required for long established, reputable, family owned bus operator based in Stonehouse, South Lanarkshire, Scotland.
Modern, high quality 100% Volvo, well maintained bus fleet.
Delivering local bus services within South and North Lanarkshire.
The Role:
As the full-time Operations Assistant, you would report to the senior operations team. You would assist in managing a team of approximately 50 drivers and 19 buses. In addition to assisting with day-to-day operations, you will work with the operations team to achieve service delivery objectives to a professional standard and ensure that good customer service is delivered.
Responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring that the operations work schedule is delivered.
2. Assisting in driving a team to the highest of standards, by helping with the development of the driving team with continuous improvement and support.
3. Overseeing the day-to-day operation of our drivers, local services and contracts, adhering to all Health and Safety rules and regulations.
4. Managing the vehicle cleaning team and cleaning lists to ensure all vehicles are clean and ready prior to departure.
5. Managing and recording CCTV reviews to support incident and accident reports, issues, complaints, and general inspection of activity on the road.
6. Establishing a good working partnership with our Engineers to ensure our modern fleet of vehicles meets the highest standards required by our operator Licence.
7. Analysing, monitoring and assisting in managing delivery, quality and performance of all aspects of our local services and contract delivery.
8. Maintaining quality with high standards of our operating procedures.
9. Assisting the operations team in the management of drivers with concise, clear and realistic objectives and providing any necessary support.
10. Conforming to all statutory employment and compliance contractual legislations.
11. Ensuring driving duties are allocated each day to cover local service duties.
12. Working with the Directors and operations team to ensure sufficient operational support.
13. Working with our Insurance Professionals to record, report and manage insurance claims.
14. Assisting with Electronic Ticket Machine requirements and basic maintenance.
15. Carrying out ETM and tracking data interrogation and reporting.
16. Completing other tasks on an ad hoc basis to ensure good operational delivery at all times.
Requirements:
* Industry Experience (desired but not essential)
* Hold a National/International CPC (desired but not essential – work towards attainment)
* Hold a PCV licence (desired but not essential)
* Computer literate – with experience of Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as programs common to the bus industry
* Ability to multitask
* Ability to work efficiently and effectively in dynamic situations and meet deadlines
Salary/Benefits:
Full time, Competitive Salary – from £34,000 per annum dependent on experience.
Monday to Friday 0630 – 1630 hrs, every 4th Saturday 0600 – 1000 hrs.
