Experienced Qualified dental nurse wanted for a dental practice in Colchester, Essex.
The Dental Studio is a mainly private practice covering all our patients' dental needs, but with a focus on Short Term Orthodontics and aesthetic dentistry. We are a small friendly team looking for an enthusiastic team member.
The person we are looking for is someone who is highly motivated, friendly, reliable, able to work well in a team and takes ownership for hygiene and cleanliness, has good infection control skills and is prepared to make a long-term commitment to the practice. The right person will have at least 1 year of dental nursing experience. Pay is dependent on experience.
This position can be part time or full time depending on the right candidate but will include approximately 1 Saturday a month.
You must be qualified and GDC registered, be up to date with CPD, have the required immunisations, an enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist dentists, therapists, and hygienists during a variety of treatment procedures.
2. Prepare and maintain the clinical environment, including sterilising instruments.
3. Ensure patient comfort and effectively manage patient anxiety.
4. Be capable of (or willing to undergo training for) taking alginate impressions, performing ITero scans, and taking radiographs.
5. Accurately record patient medical histories and maintain detailed patient records.
6. Provide postoperative instructions to patients as directed by the dentist.
7. Attend regular team meetings and training sessions.
8. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and health and safety regulations.
9. Collaborate with the lead dental nurse, practice manager, and dentists to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
Requirements:
* Current General Dental Council (GDC) registration
* Up-to-date Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certificates
* Valid immunisations
* Valid indemnity cover and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
* Good understanding of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations
* Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of dental procedures
* Proven ability to work well within a team and contribute positively to the practice's overall success
* Enthusiasm, dedication, and a passion for providing high-quality patient care
