Working collaboratively with senior nurses and other key stakeholders, the successful candidate will play a key role in the development and delivery of excellent fundamental nursing care practice. Main duties of the job The post holder will provide professional leadership and management to a clearly defined area of staff including recruitment, appraisal, continual professional development and disciplinary matters in order to provide a patient focused service. Accountable for service delivery, including clinical and ESHT Essential Care Standards, management of clinical risk and complaints - liaising with other agencies as appropriate and playing a pro-active role in quality improvement. Responsible for the Matrons, Heads of departments and Specialist Nurses in specified areas and setting their objectives. Responsible for nursing budgets and effective management of resources. Implement agreed areas of quality / service development and improvement relating to nursing in accordance to national recommendations and standards.
