Full job description
Our client is a world leading engineering company that specialise in the aerospace and defence sectors.
They are looking for a milling section team leader / Machine Operator to join their team.
The key responsibilities will include:
Set and operate CNC milling machine tools.
Setting of cutting tools, machine tool and work piece datums.
Assess tool condition and maintain as necessary.
Self inspect own work in accordance with the planning layout and customer drawing.
Managing daily quality and production requirements and performance issues.
Providing training for new or temporary employees.
Undertake Return to Work interviews, performance reviews, maintain discipline, ensure safe working practices and maintain appropriate records.
Liaise between your peer/ work group and management regarding day-to-day problems.
Hold meetings with the team and act on feedback.
Maintain close liaison with the Operations Manager or his deputy regarding the improvement of production or handling techniques.
The ideal candidate will have supervisory role and milling experience and be conversant using Mazak machine tools and capable of producing high quality, tight tolerance components in a variety of materials. Mazak experience is desirable, but not essential.
