Job Description: Gas Transport Manager
Location: Midlands based
Position: Transport Manager (based at our Magna Park depot; travel to other locations required)
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Type: Full time
Shift: Monday - Friday (42.5 hours)

Key Responsibilities include:
1. Adhere to and promote a safe working environment
2. Train and supervise transport staff and drivers on the proper handling and storage of cryogenic and compressed gases
3. Plan and schedule driver and vehicle resources according to customer demand and delivery deadlines
4. Monitor and track vehicles and drivers' performance using GPS and other systems
5. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards and policies
6. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the transport process
7. Evaluate and improve transport performance and efficiency
8. Liaise with customers, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders
9. Coordinate with Transport Planning and Fleet team to ensure smooth running of operations
10. Monitor and report on transportation costs
11. Report maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment
12. Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods
13. Conduct regular safety audits on equipment
14. Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping legislation
15. Stay up to date with safety regulations
Skills and Requirements:
1. At least five years of experience in cryogenic and/or compressed gas transport is essential
2. Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organisational skills
3. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
4. Previous experience supervising and developing a team within a transport environment
5. Expert understanding of relevant driver legislation: Working Time Directive, Tachograph Legislation
6. Relevant Logistics / Supply Chain qualification or equivalent experience
7. International Transport Managers CPC is essential
8. Conversant in IT skills e.g., Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and CRM systems
9. Competent in and experience of incident investigations
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
11. Willingness to learn and adapt as the business changes
