Job Description:
Siemens Mobility is dedicated to creating smart, efficient, and sustainable mobility solutions. We are seeking an Infrastructure Technician to join our Edinburgh Trams Infrastructure Maintenance team. Reporting to the Senior Technician, you will perform planned and reactive maintenance on track infrastructure, ensuring safe and efficient tram network operations. Responsibilities include maintaining mechanical and electrical trackside equipment such as Overhead Line Equipment (OLE), Signaling, Communication Systems (PIS), CCTV, Power Supply (MV & HV), and Electrical Systems (SCADA). The role involves working on a rotating shift pattern, including mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform maintenance and response activities following safety procedures.
2. Manage resources to meet daily plans in collaboration with the team.
3. Carry out routine and corrective maintenance per standards.
4. Liaise with customers during out-of-course events and manage shift handovers.
5. Record and address infrastructure/plant defects via MMS.
6. Guide team members and ensure competence in tasks.
7. Promote Health & Safety culture and handle emergency situations.
Candidate Profile:
1. Experience in electrical/mechanical engineering environments.
2. Strong knowledge of infrastructure systems and equipment.
3. Experience with MV/HV electrical power systems switching and maintenance.
4. Ability to follow procedures and complete tasks accurately.
5. Knowledge of health and safety regulations, risk assessments, manual handling, and COSHH.
6. Good team player with collaborative skills.
7. Proficient in IT systems and software.
8. Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
9. Full, clean driver’s license.
