Amazon is looking for an Import Logistics Associate for the Global Logistics (GL) team.
The GL team is dedicated to building, managing, and operating a global logistics network that enables selection from anywhere in the world and delivers customer orders to anywhere in the world, cost-effectively. As part of this strategy, we have established a locally based Amazon Global Logistics team in the EU that is responsible for the performance of our carriers, related to international transportation of inbound shipments for Vendors/Sellers.
Role Overview
The Import Logistics Associate works across the EU and UK in a cross-functional environment (Logistics Service Providers (LSP)/Customs/Product Managers/Procurement/Operations) and resolves any potential issues that impact Customer Experience and performance. The Import Logistics Associate reviews operational cases and validates destination charges, provides timely resolution to the issue at hand by researching and querying internal tools, making real-time decisions, and communicating effectively with stakeholders. An ideal candidate should be able to understand the core operational flow in order to validate unplanned charges and drive Customer Experience without compromising on time. The candidate should have a basic understanding of Logistics and should be able to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
Key job responsibilities:
1. Communicate on a day-to-day basis with internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver all shipments on time.
2. Resolve any potential issues that affect vendor experience and delivery performance.
3. Understand the issue and make the best use of the available resources to resolve it.
4. Systematically escalate problems or variance in the information to the relevant owners and teams according to processes and standards.
5. Ensure to meet all performance and quality goals.
6. Exhibit excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as one will be required to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
7. Ability to pull data from numerous databases (using Excel, SQL, and/or other data management systems).
8. Experience using data to drive root cause elimination and process improvement.
9. A self-starter who loves data and enjoys spotting trends.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Advanced English (Verbal and Written) B2+ level.
2. High school diploma.
3. Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written).
4. Good working knowledge of MS Office, MS Outlook, and MS Excel proficiency.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. University Degree: Master or Bachelor, ideally in Logistics/Transportation or any numerically oriented topic.
2. Former experience in logistics/transportation industry or customer-oriented role.
